Voting rights may be obtained by new members up to and including April 18th. Voting starts May 9th with result announced May 30th. Each riding has 100 points and votes are apportioned accordingly so as to balance the influence of a riding with a larger than average number of voters. The preferential ballot has three choices, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Entry fees are $5K or the first round, $10k second round with a $20K refundable compliance deposit, $40K third round (April 1), $60K fourth round (April 18) for a non-refundable entry fee of $115,000 in total.
Eleven hopefuls announced their intention to enter the race but Sheldon Clare and Steve Kooner left after the first round. Any one of the nine contestants would govern better than any premier with an NDP outlook on life.
