On August 11, 2023 I started a photo journalism project about the separation of church and state. The moment of inspiration happened when I saw a photo on Facebook, put there by a Facebook friend, of the Campbell River School Board office building with its recently renovated siding.
My inspiration turned into determination when I noticed that August 11th is eight eleven or 811. And 811 is not as sudden a catastrophe as 911, but 811 is a very gradual catastrophe, taking several generations to produce results with flavours of oppressor/oppressed and religiosity.
